We’re finally here. It’s the last day of our blog series on thankfulness, and even more than that… it’s Christmas day.
Our Bible verses for today are John 3:16-17: “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.”
These verses give us a clear picture of what we have to be thankful for. They’re the reason we celebrate today.
God loved (and He loves) the world SO MUCH that He sent His son to live among us, in all our brokenness. And if we only accept this marvelous gift of Christ, our incredible Savior, we will have eternal life. We are saved through the Son.
Today, we celebrate the birth of our Savior.
I’m not going to write a lot for today’s post because we’ve talked about thankfulness in significant depth at this point. So I’ll leave it at this: Let’s not get so caught up in the whirlwind of Christmas that we forget why we’re celebrating in the first place.
Let’s thank God for the gift of His son Jesus.
Let’s thank Him for saving us.
Let’s thank Him for sending that sweet baby to be born in a stable, to lay in a manger, wrapped in swaddling clothes, the most humble origin story.
Let’s thank God for EVERYTHING He’s done for us, today and every day.
God, thank you. Thank you for sending Jesus to be our Savior. We can never thank you enough for this ultimate gift. We love you. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
Merry Christmas, friend. Never forget, you are onederfully created.
Love,
Becca
