Road Trip Rescue
A girl with a missing dog. A magazine photo that points north. A pink-haired aunt with a beloved old car and a heart for adventure. Will Kimmy’s rescue mission bring Bo home?
Twelve-year-old Kimmy trusts dogs more than people.
After all, her dog Bo never made fun of her for having one hand. But two years ago, Bo disappeared.
When Kimmy stumbles across a magazine photo of a dog in upstate New York that looks just like Bo, she knows she has to find him. Her parents seem oddly unsupportive, but pink-haired, adventure-hungry Aunt Skylar agrees to a road trip with a stop in the Adirondacks. Kimmy jumps at the chance to bring her furry family member home.
Unfortunately, Aunt Skylar’s idea of a road trip isn’t the rescue mission Kimmy had in mind.
WHAT IS A LAUNCH TEAM?
Basically, a launch team is a group of people who are excited about a book and want to help the author get the word out!
My goal is to create a community of enthusiastic readers who want to read my book, share it with others, and have fun together while doing it. If you love my short stories, read my blog, or want to help support my work, this might be just the opportunity you’re looking for!
WHO IS THIS TEAM FOR?
WHY JOIN THE TEAM?
My goal in writing is to show kids they are wonderfully created for the unique adventures in their lives. In Road Trip Rescue, Kimmy discovers that even though she isn’t perfect, she is extraordinary and she is loved. And her journey gets so much better when she realizes she’s not alone.
Maybe you’re a teacher or a librarian or a parent or a grandparent or a fellow author. Maybe you’re just someone who loves reading children’s books (I’m with you there!). Regardless of where you are coming from, when you share about Road Trip Rescue, you’ll help kids know they are wonderfully created.
WHAT DO LAUNCH TEAM MEMBERS HAVE TO DO?
- Preorder a copy of the book, or commit to ordering a copy from Amazon on launch day. This is one of the best ways to help support a new book you’re excited about, even if you don’t have the time to join the launch team!
- Read the book before release day. Launch team members will have early access to the ebook!
- Review the book on Amazon and/or Goodreads—and on other places, too, as you’re able!
- Post about the book on social media, tell your friends about it, and help brainstorm other creative ways to get the word out.
- Check emails and attend virtual meetings as you are able to during the launch window. The launch team will meet three weeks before the launch date and run for two weeks after for a total of five weeks—from early October to early November. Road Trip Rescue launches on October 24, 2023.
