I love my job as an editor. And one of the things I love most is that I get to read some amazing stories early.

One of my author friends who I’ve edited for is Amanda Trumpower.

Every time I get an email from Amanda saying she has another book for me to work on, I get so excited.

Amanda currently writes two separate series within the anthropomorphic Collar Cases universe. Her chapter book series, Collar Cases (Amazon Affiliate Link), is written for readers seven to twelve who love mysteries, animals, and silly hijinks. And her middle grade series, Power Pup (Amazon Affiliate Link), is a Christian superhero series.

Both of these series are so fun, with wonderful animal characters, great action, wholesome content, and fantastic humor. If I’m sitting at my computer and laughing, there’s a good chance I’m editing one of Amanda’s books.

But today, I’m going to focus on Power Pup.

Specifically, I want to tell you about Power Pup vs. Grillmaster (Amazon Affiliate Link), book two of the series.

In Power Pup vs. Grillmaster, a masked supervillain and his gang of Condiments threaten Catburg City with a series of fires and robberies. It’s up to Power Pup to bring this supervillain to justice—with the help of investigative journalists Alex Digger and Mittens Meow.

This superhero story explores themes of courage, strength, and the importance of using the gifts God has given us. In fact, I had the pleasure of writing a devotion for Power Pup vs. Grillmaster, where I shared about our God-given gifts and how we can use them to love others well.

Superheroes or not, God has given each of us unique gifts.

We might be writers or teachers or encouragers or really good listeners.

How can you embrace the gifts God has given you? How can you use those gifts to share God’s love?

I love that Power Pup vs. Grillmaster explores these themes within a really fun (and funny!) superhero story. I highly recommend checking out this story, along with the other books in the Collar Cases Universe.
